Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America – Jeph Loeb

Using the five stages of grief as a guide, Loeb has various characters react the the incredibly arrogant and asinine move by Marvel to kill the symbol of America. I suppose it makes sense: A big corporation that owes everything to their fans and treats them like trash. Wow, all of a sudden it seems more appropriate than my original belief that it was just some dumb gimmick to sell a couple of more issues before unrealistically bringing him back into the Marvel world. Regardless, Loeb is at his best when he provides snapshots of events revolving around a larger plot and does a fine job here as well.
