Yes, I know, Lost has been off the air for a couple of years now, but it takes me forever to get around to writing these things (and it seems I missed doing season 3), especially considering just how big a disappointment the final season was. I guess I was just blocking it all out. Ok, I guess that already sets up how this is going to go. Season five continues to follow the lives of the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island as well as the six who managed to escape back home. It deals a lot with time travel as some of our major, on island, characters get sent back in time to the dreaded 1970s while those off island realize they need to get back onto the island. It ends rather excitingly with lots of destruction (I won't spoil it any more for those living under rocks that still haven't finished watching it). Season six is just crap and the reason why is, despite the interesting idea of parallel lives being discussed (what would happen if various characters had slightly different lives, all of which involve not landing on the island), too many uninteresting new characters are introduced (It's the last season! Just focus on who you have!) and it's very clear that everybody's lives would have been so much better if they never landed on the island. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the show? To make matters worse, the ending itself was pointless, unfulfilling, pseudo-spiritual nonsense. I'm so angry I'm not going to post a picture with this.
