Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without A Face – David Hine & Fabrice Sapolsky

Continuing with the Noir version of Spider-Man brings the web spinning vigilante into conflict with a new underworld boss and the machinations of an evil crippled scientist by the name of Otto Octavius. Carmine Di Giandomenico's art and coloring  works nicely with the noir theme although it should be noted that thongs are a modern invention. On the positive side, a story that isn't part of the mainstream Marvel universe can kill/main/change characters without much problem, but, on the negative side, the story doesn't do anything particularly groundbreaking other than kill/main/change a character or two. Typical of Marvel, there is a real lack of willingness to explore and grow.
