Here are some charcoal drawings from last week's class. These first few are 2- and 5-minute drawings. Click to enlarge any of these.

This last one is probably an hour and a half, but it was a tricky exercise. The model didn't move (at least not intentionally), but the instructor moved objects in front of and behind the model every ten minutes or so. The objects would block different parts of his body and change the shadows that fell on him. So you had to keep re-adjusting how you were looking at him. In many ways it was frustrating, but it did force you to find different relationships between different areas, and not get lulled into one way of seeing things (you know, because it's SOOO easy to draw people usually!)
