I Am Legend

Will Smith plays an army scientist who is the only survivor in New York City of a plague that has killed off humanity, but this does not mean he is alone on Manhattan. Even though this had very little to do with the 1954 novel, I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson, (just like the other film versions of this book) it is still a suspenseful and intelligent movie that could easily freak out your average movie goer. There were some flaws such as cutting the scene that explains that not every path into/out of Manhattan has been cut, how Smith's character managed to fix up his house like he did, and not explaining if the adversaries were beginning to evolve intellectually. Still, from what I heard of the horrifically retarded original ending, they did a good job with this film.
