Wolverine: Evolution – Jeph Loeb

I’ve never been disappointed by a storyline of Loeb’s until now. In a never ending quest to squeeze more blood out of the stone that is Wolverine’s origin, Loeb presents this Tom and Jerry story wherein Wolverine, who is so fond of reminding us that he’s the best at what he does, fights and chases and fights and chases some more his nemesis Sabertooth, who you may recall is the villain that “the best” can’t ever seem to beat. That’s probably because Wolverine is hindered by his unbreakable metal skeleton and those pesky giant metal claws. Loeb pens a silly tale of the evolutionary roots of Marvel’s furrier characters that blissfully ends before resolution.
