The Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told – vol. 1

Apparently DC comics think greatest means lamest. I understand that today’s readers are more savvy than those of generations ago and may not appreciate just how monumental an old comic might have been, but knowing this DC could have at least chosen foundation stories, ones that made an impact in the history of the title. The closest this collection comes to that is Superman arresting Hitler and Stalin and the introduction of Mr. Mxyztplk. The only actually good story is Alan Moore’s “For the Man Who Has Everything,” which was turned into a Justice League episode so I already knew it.
