Stardust

Sally justifiably reprimanded me for my belatedness in posting this review. The story revolves around a young man who travels to a fairy kingdom to catch a fallen star and win the heart of some tramp. Meanwhile, in the kingdom, a group of princes plot each other’s demises while attempting to retrieve said star in order to be crowned king. At the same time a group of witches seek the star to extend their lives and powers. Did I mention that the star is an actual person? It was a fun adventure movie with all the romance, humor, and clichés that an audience wants with the added bonus of Robert De Niro in his best performance ever—What? You already know he’s a great actor. Did you see Mad Dog and Glory?! An actor isn’t until they can break typecast and De Niro never has until now.
