Jack of Fables: The (Nearly) Great Escape – Bill Willingham

I heard mixed reviews about this Fables spin off that deals with the exiled fable Jack (of the beanstalk). The characters are not as interesting as the primary series and let’s face it Jack is a jerk and don’t tell me he’s an anti-hero. Bigby Wolf is an anti-hero as he’s a killer, but he still cares for various people. Jack cares for no one but himself and treats everyone as expendable resources. Still, the story was interesting. A group of “librarians” have been capturing fables (mainly American) and Jack is the latest. Can the greatest fable ever escape? Stay turned for a paper I’m sure to write about the negative image this gives us librarians.
