Nancy Pearl

After a “Day of Dialog”, at the end of May, I went to the Forest Hills branch of the Queens Library to hear Nancy Pearl talk about her new book, Book Crush. Pearl is known for her NPR shows, work as a public librarian, the reader’s advisory books she’s authored, and for being the model for the Librarian Action Figure doll. While the crowd was surprisingly small considering it was just before the Book Expo of America, Pearl gave a charming talk without notes about the process of writing her book on classic young adult stories and the motivation behind it.
