Reference and Information services in the 21st Century: An Introduction – Kay Ann Cassell and Uma Hiremath

Here is a lifesaver for librarian student and professionals (despite the subtitle). Cassell and Hiremath painstakingly researched a massive amount of resources available to librarians and researchers in all fields and explains what they are and how best to use them. The work is well written when it could easily be a painful read, but it would have been great if it had a supplement Excel file that simply put every resource in an easily searchable CD-ROM. The book itself is an important resource and I wish it were not simply a textbook.
