Dr. Strange is the master of the mystic arts and it’s his job to defend the Marvel universe from attacks of the magical nature. I’m a huge fan of Strange and have always been disappointed that most stories involving him sucked. These early works, reprints of Strange Tales 110-111 and 114-168, by Stan Lee, Dennis O'Neil and Jim Lawrence, are some of the best, often spanning only a few pages, but giving the reader a taste of the supernatural. Sadly, as with all the Essential titles, the work is in B&W and the surreal effect of the art is lost.
