Daniel Deronda (2002 movie)

I was supposed to read this George Eliot novel of a Victorian English gentleman searching for meaning in his life of prosperity for a class and never did because I’m lazy. I hear the BBC movie is accurate, seems well done and is actually a fascinating tale about an adopted English gentleman who uncovers his true self, even if Daniel’s character is too saccharine. The tale points out the horrible prejudices of the society of the time, which—surprise—isn’t so different from today.
