A Complete Lowlife - Ed Brubaker

I had read an issue of Lowlife when it was firstbeing produced and found the main character (Tommy) too disgusting to warrant further interest. I'm glad I changed my mind. Yes, the narrator of this semi-autobiographical comic is, well, a lowlife, yet Brubaker has done a fine job making his story both compelling and repulsive. This book is completed by his vivid art and when you finish reading you may not only forgive Tommy for being a teen-age slacker, but miss him too.
