I will not claim that this brief series is the most astounding show to ever bless the airwaves. It is simply that no other show harbors the intellectual, culturally undermining, metaphorically profound, adventurous, bizarre, and terrifying qualities that The Prisoner does. When a British secret agent (played by Patrick McGoohan) suddenly resigns, he finds himself in an inescapable location know only as The Village. Under constant interrogation and surveillance, he is subjected to the constant demand for the reason behind his inexplicable retirement. Information is required and, in celebration to the spirit of individualism, information (in formation) is refused.
