Rose Rage - adapted by Edward Hall and Roger Warren

The Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents Henry VI Parts I, II, and III the way the bard himself intended: boiled down to the backstabbing palace intrigue, preformed by an all male cast, and set in a Victorian slaughterhouse. This production was intense. Never have I seen such venom literally spit forth from the actors as they rampaged with bludgeons smashing and knives hacking at actual giblets while adroitly delivering Shakespeare's masterfully crafted poetry. It is a dark and magnificent epic.
