King Kong [2005]

All Peter Jackson can do is go on and on about this, yet if this movie about a film crew that comes across a giant ape on a forbidden isle tells us anything it is that dark savages want Aryan woman and that ladies love big, hairy apes. For all the magnificent visuals, it’s a shame that the best actor is the CGI Kong. The movie makes a few atrocious stabs at character depth, culminating in the deplorably meaningless father-son relationship between the first mate and a cabin boy. If you can’t view this on a huge screen, don’t.
