Angels & Demons – Dan Brown

Brown presents a prequel to The Da Vinci Code sending his hero, symbologist Robert Langdon, on a quest to unravel the mysteries of the Illuminati before it is too late. The book uses almost the same plot structure as before, only this time Brown attempts to (sort of) apologize to the Catholic Church that he so seemed to offend by turning it into a (mostly) heroic institution. Both books are fun even if Brown is obviously the poor man Umberto Eco.
