A scientist has discovered teleportation technology and now wants to bring it to the world, or maybe just get revenge on his old friends. Closer by Johnston, Norton, and Buckley is an odd mix of quantum physics, Egyptian mythology, psychological warfare, horror, and redemption. And if any of these elements (or any of the one-dimensional characters) had been more fully developed, this might have been an interesting read. Instead, it's just a ho-hum retread of several b-movie genres.
